One cello, one body. Two instruments, two artists confronting a great author: J. S. Bach. From the works for solo cello, all the preludes and a dance for suite have been selected. Each suite is characterised by a colour, a particular and often contradictory feeling: the preludes particularly highlight these six souls. The dancer’s body is gradually involved in a rigorous writing, with a dynamic from the inside out. The performance is a concert in which the music becomes physical and the body is transformed into a musical, abstract, hierarchical instrument. The research of movement, based on different principles for each composition, wants to stage an accessible body, which can become an instrument to create pure movement in rhythmic and timbric relation with the music. “Bach sonata and dance” is a physical meditation in movement, which wants to disconnect the rationality the time of a concert.
