Main Sponsor: Ricola

The day of study aims to investigate the meaning of residences in Italy, measuring its strengths and weaknesses and the impact on successes and development of self-entrepreneurial skills of individual artists/companies.
Coming out of the many times debated embarrassment for which the artistic production for too many years has not been considered as an effective form of enterprise, a question arises concerning the residency path: does it provide the useful tools for the start of a new artist’s venture ? does it effectively act as start-ups for individuals in residence?
Are residences useful for effective circulation in national and international exhibition and performance contexts?
Starting from these three questions, Hangar Piemonte, together with Cross Award, offers a day of study and story of the residential realities of our country, opening up to a useful comparison with the best national and international experiences.
