LANDing in Verbania

Summer 2020

LANDing, in its original idea, was born from the desire to land in unknown territories, to explore the natural and human landscape, traditions, traces of history with the eyes of those who encounter a new place for the first time and with the intention of looking in an unusual way at themselves and the territory they explore, to reflect on the relationship with the elsewhere and the sense of the encounter in a relational dynamic in which the other and the elsewhere are always present inside and outside of us. In this edition, which enthusiastically embraces the wandering philosophy of Walk Cross, the exploration will be inspired by the "dérive", a radical practice of rehousing and crossing spaces conceived by Guy Debord, and will aim to establish new and unusual relationships with those territories, urban and natural, that we normally cross.

Special mention CROSS International Performance Award 2019

Francesca Foscarini is a dancer, teacher and choreographer in contemporary dance. She combines a research approach, with the aim of exploring the possibilities and suspensions that dance hides. She has won numerous awards including the Dance & Dance Award as Emerging Choreographer in 2018 for her Animal and Gold creations. The Art of Resistance and in 2015 the Positano Award as “Dancer of the Year on the Contemporary Scene”;. Cosimo Lopalco is a writer, poet, playwright. Among his works we remember the novel “Tutto a posto a posto tranne me”, the poems of “La città che non esiste” and the dramaturgies of Animale e Oro. L’arte di resistere. He is the creator together with Francesca Foscarini of “LANDing”, an interdisciplinary workshop inspired by psychogeography, and founder together with Marcomario Guadagni of the “edizioni del nulla”.
