Ajariot – Performing Arts Collective
Fall 2018

A cataclysm has devastated the planet; the women are perished, and a masculine oligarchy has risen. The male inhabitants create bio cyborgs with feminine features suited to their sexual pleasure and to the reproduction and generation of only male foetuses. Every fifteen years their bodies are dismantled and reassembled, and their minds and memories are reset. One of them has a bug that allows her to recall the memories of her previous life. She doesn’t recognize herself in the new body and starts asking herself questions. Who am I? What am I?
A multidisciplinary and trans disciplinary performance that investigates and brings together the themes of Artificial Intelligence with contemporary feminist theories.

A project by Ajariot – Performing Arts Collective // with Federica Guarragi, Isadora Pei, Teresa Ruggeri, Camilla Soave // direction and visual arts: Isadora Pei // dramaturgy: Emmanuele Policante // original music: Carlo Valsesia // organisation: Selene D’Agostino, Sara Giorla // graphics: Chiara De Marchis Garofalo

Ajariot – Performing Arts Collective created in 2014, is a group of artists, performers, activists, dancers, videomakers, scholars and organizers. The research, the transdisciplinarity and the theme of self-determination are the topics of common interest. Through these topics they explore the relation between body and visual images expressed with bodily, somatic, installation, visual, documentary and policy making practices.
