Sirene is an itinerant and immersive performance led by performer Sara Vilardo aiming to explore from a contemporary perspective the journey to go home. The audience, guided by narration and a sound composition played through headphones, begins in an enclosed space, a house, before venturing into an urban route. Inspired by The Odyssey, the audience encounters a series of places that serve as metaphors, referencing to Odysseus' challenges through a contemporary and intimate interpretation. The obstacles along this journey symbolize inner stages of transformation, the search for home, and ultimately, the discovery of oneself. At each location, the audience is invited to participate in small, curious, and psychomagical rituals by engaging in actions and reflections that lead them through transformative experiences. This collective journey thus becomes an opportunity for introspection and change. As Sara Vilardo reminds us by quoting the Arab writer Naguib Mahfouz: "Home is not where you are born. Home is where all attempts to escape cease."
