Mirada is a multimedia and poetic dance that brings new ways of contemplating the presence of a body in space by proposing an ultra-dynamic point of view: extremely distant from the performer, extremely close to a technology that amplifies their presence. By focusing on the details we experience a feeling of proximity and closeness; as well, it emerges as a kind of control over what we are observing. How does one experience proximity when space is mediated by digital? How can technology amplify the perception of a landscape without deadening it? Mirada is the gaze into infinity and simultaneously the imperfect eye, the magnified detail. Going beyond the ‘postcard’ vision, the landscape is that frame in which it is possible to rethink the perception of time, of physical and inner distance, of bodies on the horizon.
Elisa Sbaragli is a dancer and choreographer from Verbania, supported by Tir Danza since 2023. Her research centers on the body as malleable matter, trained to a state of presence, attentiveness, and relational awareness. Fascinated by liminal and hybrid spaces, she seeks to uncover an aesthetic and poetic landscape—one where the interaction between bodies, places, and non-human elements emerges—through artistic and theoretical exchanges with professionals from various disciplines. Her working methodology is based on different approaches to sampling, archiving, and mapping study materials. In 2023, she launched the artistic research project Se domani, featuring Alice Raffaelli and Lorenzo De Simone, winner of PimOff 23/24 and HOME Calling 2023, and selected for Nid Platform 2024 in the Open Studios section. Among her latest works, Mirada won the Danza Urbana XL 2024 call, while Sull’irrequietezza del divenire was selected for Bodyscape 2021, promoted by Associazione Culturale Danza Urbana. She was also chosen by CRISOL - Creative Processes (Boarding Pass Plus 2022/23/24) for residency periods in Norway alongside other international artists, participating in the Festival (((O)))utpost 2023 in Flørli (Norway). In 2022, she attended Dancescapes - In a Landscape, an advanced training program organized by Associazione Culturale Danza Urbana in Budrio (BO), deepening her artistic research for urban and natural spaces. In 2017, she completed Azione, directed by Sosta Palmizi, where she worked with some of the most significant figures in Italian contemporary dance research. She trained as a contemporary dancer at C.I.M.D. and holds a degree in Political Science from the University of Siena.
