CROSS Festival since 2012 combines activities of promotion, training and production of projects related to contemporary performing languages. It arises from the experience of the Festival Villaggio d’Artista and the success of the CROSS Award project which, from 2015 to date, has collected over 600 applications from over 30 European and non-European countries. CROSS Festival wants to become a point of reference for the performing arts, contributing to the international debate, whose assumptions are currently the continuous research towards linguistic experimentation and the responsibility towards the social context in which it is born.

For CROSS Festival it is necessary that in society, the artist assumes a role of responsibility and that allows us, through his visions, to understand the world in which we live. We are interested in crossing not only languages but also fields of knowledge, art, politics, social commitment, body, to investigate today’s most visionary expressions.

Central space of CROSS Festival is Il Maggiore – the new theatre of the city of Verbania – born with the aim of being the beating heart of the territory’s activities.
